Born in Vietnam and lived in France, Hao is a mom of two teenagers and an Expression Teacher, a Life/Art Coach, and Founder/Director of HaoExpression. With over 20 years of training in music, dance, voice and expressive arts in Paris and in California, Hao has been bridging Western, European and Asian influences in creating beautiful original full length stage performances.
Hao founded HaoExpression with the endeavor to give children and adults, artists and non-artist a platform to express themselves using their body, their voice and their eyes. She uses Tamalpa Life/Art approach to help individuals and collectives find inner ressources to express themselves creatively, authentically and artistically, on stage in life.
Hao uses Expressive Arts as a discipline for self-discovery and change. Her programs explore various disciplines of the arts: visual, dance/movement, music, and drama, to give students a richer vocabulary for self expression.
Hao holds a master degree in computer science applied to management from Paris XI University, and was a computer scientist at Barclays Bank, Paris. In California she graduated in Movement Based Expressive Arts from Tamalpa Institute and became a Tamalpa Practitioner. Hao has studied with zen master Thich Nhat Hanh, music master Tran Van Khe, dance pioneer Anna Halprin, art therapy and education pioneer Daria Halprin, vocalist Patricia Nicolas, and former soloist ballet dancer Rodolphe Cassand.
Hao teaches Movement-based Acting for children and teens through the Sunnyvale Recreation Center. At HaoExpression studio, Hao teaches Creative Expression and Basic Beginning Ballet.
Hao Lueckhoff is a very special and talented ballet teacher and choreographer. Hao calmly and patiently provides nurturing individual support and encouragement to her students. Her extensive background in yoga and meditation is reflected in her teaching approach. Hao teaches ballet technique and movements in a holistic and clear manner that students can understand. She skillfully explains human anatomy and body mechanics in relationship to proper ballet technique. Hao’s deep passion for ballet and creative expression inspires and challenges her students to reach their potential. Hao communicates a joy that is contagious.
Hao has a very good contact with children and they love coming to her classes. Body expression is a very good way to connect with one's emotions. I had the opportunity to collaborate several times with Hao for children and I highly recommend her work with them.
Hao, a mix of creativity, tenderness and talent.
HaoExpression theater production is a mother/daughter (and son) story. Hao and her daughter Serena share a passion for literature and classical arts, and together they have put on stages their favorite classics: from The Little Prince, The Trojan horse, The Magic Flute, Les Miserables, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Excalibur. Serena reads the books and writes the scripts, and Hao adds movement scores. After the performances mother and daughter make books of quotes with pictures from their productions.
