Vinnie Jones received her early dance training in Portsmouth, New Hampshire studying ballet, jazz and modern dance. She went on to the University of Utah where she got her BFA in dance performance, teaching and character dance. She has danced professionally with classical and contemporary companies including Ballet Tucson, San Diego Ballet, Menlowe Ballet and LaMov Compania de Danza of Spain. With these companies she has performed principal roles in Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, and Balanchine's Serenade. She has also danced a variety of contemporary works including studying the works of Itzak Galili, Edgar Zendejas, Donald McHayle, Robert Dekkers, and Victor Jiminez. She has performed and studied in Greece, Spain, Mexico, Canada, France and Ukraine. She has also studied folk dances and character dance from around Europe, Polynesia, and Asia.
As a teacher she enjoys teaching ballet to all ages and abilities. She also enjoys teaching contemporary dance, improvisation, and working with processes based choreography. She believes all forms of dance have unique ways to train the body for expression and creation. She enjoys creating classes that give her students the tools they need to fully and competently express themselves. Her choreography has been performed in Utah, Spain, Mexico, Tucson and around the bay area. She has choreographed for the performance teams at Menlo Park Academy of Dance, as well as for competitions such as the Youth American Grand Prix and California Dance Classics. She also choreographed on the dancers of Pacific Ballet choreographing on contemporary works on their advanced dancers and creating Act 1 of their Nutcracker. She also a co-creater and choreographer with Em(body) Dance Project.
At HaoExpression Vinnie teaches Contemporary/Modern dance starting Fall 2019.
