Conrad is an accomplished artistic director, choreographer, and educator, currently leading the Santa Cruz Ballet. Since returning to Santa Cruz in 2021, he has enriched the company's repertoire by staging classic ballets like The Nutcrackerand creating compelling new works, notably his original 2023 adaptation of the iconic Appalachian Spring.
His commitment to classical training is rooted in his comprehensive education, which included study under distinguished artists such as Caleb Mitchell (Houston Ballet), Ravenna Tucker (Royal Ballet), Laura Morton (Milwaukee Ballet), and his mother (San Francisco Ballet). Academically, Conrad holds an MA in Theatre Practices from Artez Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in the Netherlands (2019), where he was a recipient of the prestigious Artez Scholarship. He received his foundational BFA in Dance in 2015 from Belhaven University (USA), where he was awarded the Belhaven Dance Scholarship. |
