 Astrid Arvelo formally began her ballet studies at the Terpsichore Dance School, at the age of 13 with teacher Humberto Rodríguez.
At the age of 15 she joined the stable dance corps of the Nuevo Mundo ballet of Caracas, under the artistic direction of the Venezuelan teacher, director and prima ballerina Zhandra Rodríguez, who was a principal dancer of the American Ballet Theater and the Hamburg Ballet. .
Completing part of her training at the Ballet Nuevo Mundo, she joined the most important company in Venezuela, the Teresa Carreño Ballet, dancing different roles such as: 
Coppelia: variation of Aurora, Swanilda and their friends. Choreographer: Laura Fiorucci
 Don Quixote: Dryads, Kitri's friend, Queen of the Dryads, Mercedes. Choreographer. Laura Fiorucci.
The Nutcracker: Dewdrop, Marsipan Soloist, Pass de Deux White, Pass de Deux Pink. Choreographer. Vicente Nebrada.
Main roles: The Flames of Paris, Spartacus, Paquita, Giselle, The Death of the Swan, among others.

In 2018 she competed at the Miami International Ballet Competition USA where she won the Silver Medal in the fourth division category.
 
In 2021 she moved to the United States to continue her career as a dancer, dancing in different companies in Miami such as Dimensions Dance Theater (coach) of Miami and Ballet Clásico Cubano de Miami as a Soloist and Corps de Ballet under the artistic direction of Heriberto Jiménez.

Actually lives in California, dances as a guest in different companies in the area and is a pre-ballet level ballet teacher, ballet II, young ballet students, advanced group.
 Adult programs: introduction to ballet, intermediate and advanced.
Work experience in the area: Western Ballet as a teacher and guest dancer.
She has danced different main roles such as: The moon and the children she had (Vicente Nebrada) A dance for you (Vicente Nebrada) La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Sugar Plum Fairy.
